With globe trotting a regular part of the job, Kevin has acquired considerable experience of the world’s music culture and likes what he sees, but still finds the idea of what he does ridiculous at times. “I’ve just worked with the biggest band in
Japan, the biggest band in Denmark and with U2 and Coldplay, who are probably the world’s biggest bands,” he says. “But I still love meeting bands that are on the way up and are not so well known. I’m currently photographing a Brazilian singer called
Cibelle, who is mixing samba with techno, and she delivers very special vocals.
“It’s good for me now. I’ve had my share of photographing hard core bands such as Nine Inch Nails and the druggy UK bands such as The Happy Mondays, Black Grape, The Verve and Primal Scream. Now I’m in a really good place: there’s such a mix of great
music at the moment, and I’m enjoying every minute.”
