The program’s primary social goal is to provide young people with quality education (SDG 4) on visual storytelling. Educating young people on how to get their voices heard, in a world, full of stories and images, showing them how to create an impactful story. All Canon employees in Finland can use one workday yearly for volunteering. In 2018 a group of employees worked at the warehouse of Hope – Yhdessä & Yhteisesti Ry. Hope Ry is an organization runned by volonteers that want to create equal opportunities on everyday life for children in Finland. They distribute garment and donations to families in need and support hobbies and leisure experiences for children and young people.More about Hope
Canon employees joined the Company Marathon to support employees health aswell as kids health in Finland. The entry fees from the marathon are supporting the action called ‘Lasten liike’ which is creating the possibility for free after school activities for kids. At the moment there is over 200 after school classes in 50 cities around Finland.
The World Press Photo Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization. Canon has been a global partner since 1992. At Canon, photography is more than just a business, it is a part of our heritage and part of our DNA. For more than 70 years now we have been striving to provide the best photographic tools in the world. We know that the World Press Photo winners rely on their equipment and these are the tools of their trade. World Press Photo is yearly shown exhibition. We believe in the power of showing and the importance of seeing high-quality visual stories in exhibitions and events.
Ronald McDonald House in Gothenburg want to make life more easy for seriously sick children and their families. The house is located next to the hospital and is the home for some families during a hard time in life. Canon support Ronald McDonald House with a printsolution that make it easier to focus on their core purpose. Canon Norway have a cooperation with Hallagerbakken skole all year around, supporting the school with print solutions and office equipment loan. We have established a partnership agreement with focus on themes from the schools nature & environment activity plan. Health is also important not only in daily life but reflected in the sponsorship for the young people. Giving young gymnasts the possibility to get their own exhibition printed as a memory to keep.Canon have donated a high-end DSLR and zoom lens so they can take professional pictures and provided printers to use on the exhibition day to print their pictures of themselves and the more professional gymnasts. We offer quality pictures and print the small clubs would not be able to fund.
Canon sponsor the Danish Cancer Society in the yearly event, Canon Pro Golf Series, which we hold in favor of the Danish Cancer Society. All the money we are raising during that event is going to the Danish Cancer Society.
Since 2014, Canon Sweden has supported MyDreamNow, an organisation that inspires students and helps them understand their own potential. MyDreamNow works with employers to help young people to look forward and start dreaming, with the vision that all young people should know their value in society and find their own way to future employment and dreams. Canon employees act as class coaches and contribute with guidance for the young people.

Friends is an non-profit organization, dedicated to the prevention of bullying. No child should have to be bullied. No child should have to feel worthless, hopeless, alone, and not having anyone to turn to for help. It is our responsibility, as adults, to create a safe and inclusive environment, where all children are allowed to thrive. Canon is a Corporate Friends Supporter and we support Friends by donating and raise money annually by different events.
